About The Exhibition
The past is something we all think about. Memories are constantly being constructed and reconstructed in our minds as we see the past shaping our present and influencing our futures. Nothing is completely new; history repeats itself; childhood influences who we are, our minds contemplate our past and formulate our desires.
This exhibition explores the ways in which we comprehend the past, and how the things that have happened impact our futures. Each work of art invites the viewer to question; when and where has this happened? How did it happen? What is our responsibility and relationship with what we can no longer control, real or not?
Themes in the work range from nature, dreaming, and memories, to loss, social regression, and hopes for the future. We intend to shine light onto what has happened, what is constantly happening, and how that influences what will happen around us. The blending of traditional and contemporary mediums in this show demonstrates the non-linear nature of the history of art. This already happened, and will, forever.
