Feb 2020 SYE field trip to Montréal, Canada
Five senior art students, Wanqi Wang, Margeunsol Yang, McKael Barnes, Charlotte Bates, and Olivia Hart, along with Assistant Professor of Art Sarah Knobel, went on a two-day field trip to Montréal, Quebec, Canada. While there they were able to learn and experience some of the art world in the city. Following below are dates and highlights along with photos in the slide show.

The group met with Milly-Alexandria Dery, Programming Assistant, who gave them a tour of the residency and told them how she got a career in arts administration. They also met with artist-in-residence Karine Fréchette who gave them a studio tour and talked about her art process.

The students met with graphic designer John LeFrancois. He discussed how he got started, what he has learned starting his own business, and the pros and cons of the graphic design industry. No pictures were taken upon his request.

They met with Soad Carrier, the Assistant Director of the gallery. She talked about the gallery, art fairs, and how she got started in an art administration career.
