Every year, Laurentians headed for summer internships in Washington D.C. pack their best business attire, prepare to navigate the Metro system, and tap their networks to find temporary housing in our nation’s capital city. Many of these students got their first taste of living and working in D.C. while on a SLU Connect networking trip earlier in the year.
Reunion 2023 may be over, but the memories are forever! Laurentians near and far brought the energy for four days of celebrations, alumni awards, Hall of Fame inductions, concerts, toasts, and endless laughs—all capped off with one last Dana brunch until the next Reunion.
In October 2022, Laurentians in the Burlington, Vermont, area helped students acquire professional connections and competencies, obtain information on career and industry options, and explore different geographical work environments.
Lights, camera, action, instant replay! Grant Van Buren ’22 wants every hockey game in Appleton Arena to be unforgettable, and not just because of what happens on the ice. From his post in the control room, he conducts a team of students to produce the best possible game experience for fans—whether they’re in the arena or cheering from home.
Both Evan Holm '23 and Stew Hutchinson '23 spent their summers immersed in the workplace culture of eBay, putting their liberal arts experiences to work while learning first-hand how a finance organization works at a major global company.

Though it was practically predestined, Caroline Fleischauer ’15 didn’t come to St. Lawrence expecting to discover her passion for teaching. Education was always an important value in her family, but Fleischauer was uncertain if it was her calling, too.

They spent a week networking with members of our top-ranked alumni network and gaining insights into possible career paths—all while immersing themselves in the work/life culture of this historic city.
