Community Mentor: Isabella Purpora, icpurp18@stlawu.edu
Agency and Placement Location: 29 Leroy Street, Potsdam, NY 13676 (12 miles from campus)
Transportation: University Van Reserved, this means that CBL has automatically reserved a SLU vehicle for students’ use. However, it does not mean that CBL is providing a driver. As such, students MUST complete SLU's Driver Certification training in order to utilize this transportation.
Mission: According to their website "K-Kids is the largest service organization for elementary school students with more than 35,000 members worldwide. Students lead the club, plan activities, participate in community service projects, celebrate their successes and develop empathy, self-confidence and compassion along the way. Through service to others they begin to understand the impact they can have on their school and their community. We follow the Positivity Project's motto that "other people matter". At LAE students in Grades 2, 3 & 4 are involved in changing the world around them, but the most significant change happens in the kids themselves. We meet in the LAE cafeteria on Wednesdays and Thursdays for an hour after school.."
Projects: Only available to FRPG 1025CBL.
- SLU Students will provide support and mentorship to elementary school students as they engage in other enrichment activities.
