Mission: According to their website, the mission of Cornell Cooperative Extension (St. Lawrence County) is to "To provide unbiased, educational outreach to the North Country through research, education and demonstration in Food and Agricultural Systems, Life Skills, Community Enhancement, Rural Stewardship, and Youth Development."
Projects:
- Assist Community Horticulture Educator: Combination experience with Community Horticulture Program and Harvest Kitchen, a shared use incubator kitchen space at the Extension Learning Farm.
Examples of activities: Learning more about Master Gardener Program and Master Food Preserver Program, helping prepare for gardening or kitchen workshops, planting and maintenance of seeds and plants indoors as well as in onsite high tunnel. Offering feedback to Seed-to-Supper curriculum a 6-week gardening program for low-income households.
