    Laurentians Inspire: Creating a One-Stop-Shop for Climate Action

    The summer after graduating in 2020, Lucy Hochschartner was driving home from her part-time job at Chipotle when she first got the idea for On the Level, a website and nonprofit organization using technology to help people join the climate movement—empowering them to take actions that align with their interests, skills, and location.

    Laurentians Inspire: Michael Petroni '12

    Michael Petroni '12, a Ph.D. candidate at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF), lead a team of researchers on a study that links levels of Hazardous Air Pollutants to COVID-19 mortality rates. It has the potential to inform pollution standards and protect vulnerable populations across the country.

    Recent Alumna Awarded Fulbright to Study Environmental Degradation in Paraguay

    Lucy Hochschartner '20 says her professors at St. Lawrence fostered her interest in environmental justice through social science research. Her recent Fulbright Award will allow her to study the effects of deforestation in Paraguay's Gran Chaco forest and pursue her passion for climate activism.
