In recognition of her compassion for students and commitment to going above and beyond for the St. Lawrence community, Student Activities and Leadership staff member Ashlee Downing-Duke was awarded the Kathleen Buckley Outstanding Staff Member Award.
St. Lawrence’s new biomedical sciences major is hands-on, experiential, versatile, and designed for students who are curious to explore big questions regarding health and disease. Associate Professor of Biology Karin Heckman and Sarah Johnson ’82 Professor of Biology and Psychology Ana Estevez illuminated the benefits of majoring in biomedical sciences at a liberal arts institution, shared what makes St. Lawrence’s program unique, and illustrated how faculty and staff will support their students’ wide range of possible career aspirations.

The Thelomathesian Society (also known as “Thelmo”) is donating $1 million to create an endowed fund aimed at increasing the availability of student mental health care on the St. Lawrence University campus.
St. Lawrence University’s Board of Trustees has elected Kathleen Perkins Colson ’79 and Carolyn Davidow Putney ’88, P’22 as new term members. The trustees will serve for a period of six years beginning on June 1.

Inspired by her passion to promote mental health and well-being on our campus, especially the emotional wellness of student-athletes, Jan Egbers P’21 is presenting St. Lawrence University with a $1.5 million gift, which will create an endowment to support St. Lawrence mental health and counseling services. The fund also honors retiring long-time Head Golf Coach Mary Lawrence by naming the position the Mary A. Lawrence Head Coach for Men's and Women's Golf.
For my entire life, all I've known is sports. In high school, I was a three-sport athlete. I was used to clicking on my football helmet in the fall, lacing up my skates in the winter, and tying up my cleats for lacrosse in the spring.
In a ceremony highlighting gratitude, perseverance, and lifelong connections, more than 500 St. Lawrence University graduates took part in the University’s Commencement on Sunday, May 22, at Newell Field House.
