Senior Week Crew Position Description

The Senior Week Crew consists of a small group of students who work with the professional Student Activities & Leadership staff in the execution of Senior Week activities and the monitoring of Senior Week events. 

Time Commitment:

Senior Week events begin on the Sunday after finals and end late in the evening on the Saturday prior to Commencement (graduation). 

Uniforms & Attire:

Staff members are provided with two Senior Week t-shirts to wear while working Sunday-Thursday. Attire for Friday's event is business casual and attire for Saturday's event is semi-formal. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Event set-up: loading/unloading equipment, decorating spaces, arranging place settings, hanging directional signage. 
  • Event teardown: carrying items and equipment, packing items for storage, loading unloading equipment, picking up trash, sweeping and mopping. 
  • Running errands and transporting supplies via golf carts and SLU vans. 
  • Checking IDs for students who are purchasing/picking up bar-access wristbands. 
  • Working events, including handing out tickets, monitoring entrances and exits, providing hospitality for performers and outside contractors (e.g. picking up their lunch), other duties as assigned. 
  • Working with the professional staff, including Safety & Security, to ensure that events are safe, which may include the following: turning away students and other guests who are not permitted to enter events, asking guests to leave who have entered an event and are not permitted to be there, enforcing wristband policies (bar-access vs. non-drinking), and enforcing other rules established for the safety of Senior Week participants. 
  • Working the Senior Dinner Dance, which includes escorting guests to their seats, answering questions, and providing general hospitality and customer service. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the professional staff.

Students applying to work Senior Week should be aware that:

  • You must pass a strict judicial check to be a member of Senior Week crew
  • You are not permitted to consume alcohol or participate in Senior Week events
  • There may be times when you have to work long hours and/or late into the evening
  • This position may involve carrying heavy equipment and working long hours on your feet
  • Compensation will include an hourly wage, as well as room and board for the week (includes all meals
