Dear Fellow Laurentian:

I am writing to express my sincere gratitude to you for the support of the [Name of Scholarship]. I was thrilled to learn of my selection for this aid, and I am deeply appreciative of the opportunity it has given me.

I am a sophomore with a chemistry major and education minor; I hope to become an elementary school teacher upon graduating from St. Lawrence. The financial assistance the scholarship provided will be of great help to me in paying my educational expenses, and it will allow me to concentrate more of my time on studying.

I am also a member of the St. Lawrence Fed Challenge Team. I thought you would be interested to hear that we placed second in the 17th annual national College Fed Challenge, something that my team and I worked very hard to achieve. I’m certainly looking forward to next year!

Thank you again for your generosity and support. I promise you I will work very hard and eventually give back to others, both as teacher and possibly supporting a scholarship to future students like myself.

Sincerely,

[Your name]

To my scholarship benefactor:

I am writing to thank you for your support of the [Name of scholarship] and your commitment to St. Lawrence students. I was very happy and appreciative to learn that I was selected as the recipient of this scholarship.

I am a biology major with an emphasis in physiology and anatomy. I plan to pursue a career in pharmacy upon graduating from St. Lawrence University. Thanks to you, I am one step closer to that goal.

Being awarded the [Name of scholarship] has lightened my financial burden, which allows me to focus more on the most important aspect of school: learning. Your generosity has inspired me to help others and give back to the community. I hope one day I will be able to help students achieve their goals just as you have helped me.

Sincerely,

[Your name]
