The Endowment

By endowing people, programs, and facilities, we will position St. Lawrence for future generations of teaching, learning, and discovery.

Endowment Supports Our Foundation of Innovative Learning

A liberal arts education requires breadth, depth, and integration in learning. It demands the cultivation of those habits of intellectual and moral self-discipline that distinguishes a mature individual. This approach to learning empowers our students to successfully navigate complex environments and enables them to take part in solving global challenges.

Today, we must increase our endowment in order to extend our tradition of providing life-changing education and experiences for the next generation of St. Lawrence students. We must raise our available endowment dollars per student to match—or exceed—our peer institutions. Every Laurentian is called upon to help sustain and advance the St. Lawrence experience.

Endowment Supports the Liberal Arts in Action

Endowment Supports the Liberal Arts in Action
While St. Lawrence remains competitive among liberal arts institutions and has made significant strides toward being recognized as more selective, there remains much more to do. We must endow our future starting with what we already do so well. St. Lawrence is known for innovations in curricular structure and flexibility, particularly in cross-linking the liberal arts disciplines. This approach to learning empowers students to deal with complexity and enables them to take part in solving global challenges. Recognizing this approach as an institutional distinction, we need to sustain and advance it.

Distinctly St. Lawrence programs like the New York City Semester, Business in the Liberal Arts, SLU Connect, the Adirondack Semester and Sustainability Program need endowment resources to guarantee their existence well into the future.
