Proctoring Exam/Quiz Information for Faculty

Faculty Proctoring Information 

Students may request exam accommodations due to documented disabilities. While it's best for students to take exams with the professor, SAS can assist with logistical challenges. Common accommodations include extended time(never unlimited time), alternate sites, and the use of a computer.

SAS updated proctoring hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Requests for exams outside of these hours will generally not be accommodated and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Approval will depend on staffing availability and proctor capacity. Faculty members are welcome to proctor students directly when needed. Exams are proctored at Fox Hall. 

Students must leave personal items and electronics next to the proctor’s desk, and only materials allowed by the instructor can be in the testing room. All students are monitored for academic integrity.

Faculty must upload exams at least 24 hours before the scheduled testing time. Once a student signs up for the exam, the instructor will receive a link to upload the exam and fill out the proctoring instructions. SAS reserves the right to cancel a scheduled exam if the exam materials are not received within the above-noted timeframe. If an exam is not received by 4:00 pm the day before an exam, the student will be referred to the faculty member to discuss rescheduling options. SAS cannot be responsible for delays resulting from missing or late exam submissions.

Students should request proctoring 3 business days before exams. Exams must be taken at the same time as in the classroom, in one sitting, unless time accommodations require otherwise. Students with temporary disability accommodations due to an injury might require alternate scheduling arrangements. The SAS office will be in contact with the instructor.

The SAS office can only proctor exams/quizzes for students who have activated their accommodations for the current semester or have temporary disability accommodations.
