Activating Your Accommodations Each Semester

Activating Your Accommodations Each Semester

Students must activate their accommodations each semester, so professors are notified of their approved accommodations. Accommodations do not renew automatically. Students must activate accommodations each semester if they intend to use them in their coursework. Accommodations do not apply retroactively, and as such it is important to notify professors at the start of each semester.

Step 1: You will receive an email from Student Accessibility Services after accommodations are approved or at the start of each semester that instructs you to activate your accommodations.

Step 2: Once you receive the “Action Required for Accommodation Plan,” message, use the link to access and fill out the Student Services Agreement.  Please wait until you receive the email for the current semester before filling out the Student Services Agreement.

Step 3: After you complete the Student Services Agreement, you and your professors will receive an email message that includes your Accommodation Plan.

Step 4: If you do not receive this message within 24 hours, please contact studentaccessibility@stlawu.edu.

Once students know that their professors have received the Accommodation Plan, they are responsible for contacting their professors to discuss the implementation of their accommodations. This can be done by setting up an appointment with the professor or by stopping by their office hours.
