Orientation Leader Selection Process

There are three steps to becoming an Orientation Leader...

Please note that all positions for Fall 2013 have already been filled. Please check back early in the Spring 2014 semester to apply to be an OL in Fall 2014!

1. Submit an application! - Applications are available online!

There are two types of applications, one for first-time Orientation Leaders and one for returning Orientation Leaders so please make sure to click on the link for the correct form. The due date for applications will be posted here. No late applications will be accepted.

The application requires that you submit a resume along with the online form. We highly recommend making an appointment with Career Services for them to review your resume. A list of previous employment is not a complete resume; make sure to include your co-curricular involvement as well.

To learn more about the position there will be two Information Sessions available for you to attend. Please check back once applications for Fall 2014 are available for session locations and times.

After the Orientation Leader Selection Committee (composed of administrative staff and Orientation Leaders from the Class of 2014)  has reviewed applications, candidates will be notified if they have been selected to move onto the second round by early March.

If you are currently studying abroad and would like to apply to be an Orientation Leader, please go ahead and complete the online application above! Please note on your application that you are currently studying abroad. All abroad applicants will be asked to participate in a separate interview process.

2. Group Process Interview

The second portion of the Orientation Leader selection process includes participating in a Group Process Interview. There will be three Group Process Interview time-slots and if you are selected to continue through the process you will be asked to sign up for one most convenient for you.

Returning Orientation Leaders will not be asked to participate in the group process interviews or individual interviews. You will be asked to participate in a separate interview process and you will be contacted with information if selected to continue past the application process.

Candidates selected to continue onto the third round will be contacted around the third week of March.

3. Individual Interview

The third portion of the Orientation Leader selection process includes participating in a interview with one of the members of the Orientation Leader selection committee. Interviews will occur in late March. Sign-ups for interview time-slots will be available at the Information Desk.

All final candidates will be notified by mid-April.
