String Orchestra

The String Orchestra is open by audition to orchestral string players including students, staff, and faculty from the SLU campus as well as local professional and semi-professional musicians and talented local students. We endeavor to create memorable concert experiences for our audiences, whether it be standard repertoire or lighter pop music program selections.

A dedicated approach and passionate focus from its players have given the SLU String Orchestra its exceptional musical reputation on the university campus and throughout the local community.

The fall 2026 semester's theme, The Soloist Program, will feature an exciting variety of local professional musicians, including a special guest tenor St. Lawrence University alum, and will include woodwinds, brass and percussion on some selections. The program will include music by Bizet, Mascagni, Mozart, Lara, Piazzola, Puccini and others.
