  3. When should a student re-interview with the Health Careers Committee?

A petition is necessary to re-interview OR request updates to an HCC letter.

  • Sometimes students have an HCC interview and then decide not to apply to their program at that moment.  (For example, a junior student who has a spring interview, but then decides not to apply to that cycle of medical school applications.)

  • Students may re-interview with the Health Careers Committee during their senior spring, to fully capture their college experiences. 

  • However, the Health Careers Committee recognizes that repeating the entire interview process is not necessary in some circumstances, when the letter on file could simply be edited/updated with additional activities or references

  • If a student is considering re-interviewing or requesting HCC letter updates, they should complete the downloadable form below and email it to Dr. Kari Heckman kheckman@stlawu.edu or Dr. Jane Kring jkring@stlawu.edu .   Approval of this form will be provided by the HCC Co-Chairs within two days (weekdays) and is now required prior to submitting a waiver for a 2nd Health Careers Committee interview.
