The St. Lawrence University Board of Trustees is pleased to welcome two new members: education and nonprofit leader Kate Dachs P'29 and healthcare entrepreneur and alumnus Jeff Spafford '88.
As St. Lawrence University celebrated the Class of 2026 during Commencement ceremonies on Sunday, May 17, President Kate Morris encouraged graduates to harness the uniquely human “superpowers” they developed during their time on campus.
The Class of 2026 leaves St. Lawrence with stories of adventure, discovery, leadership, and lifelong connection. Whether conducting research, taking advantage of our new majors, leading student organizations, studying abroad, or creating new traditions, these Laurentians have shaped their own unique paths—and made our community better along the way.
St. Lawrence University will welcome Dan Buckley ’89, head of Marvel Comics and Franchise, as its 2026 Commencement speaker. The proud Laurentian and global entertainment innovator will also receive an honorary doctor of humane letters degree during the May 17 ceremony.
On Friday, April 24, student brilliance was on display for our festival of Science, Scholarship, and Creativity. Across campus, the St. Lawrence community came together to celebrate student research presentations, musical and dance performances, and the senior art exhibition. This campus tradition has been a highlight of the spring semester since 2014.

St. Lawrence University has launched the Ray Shero ’84 Memorial Endowed Fund for Men’s Hockey, a new initiative co-created by hockey alumni and friends to honor the transformational legacy of the late Ray Shero ’84.
St. Lawrence University has received a transformative $3.5 million gift from anonymous donors to establish the Mark Erickson Endowed Professorship in Geology, honoring Professor Emeritus Mark Erickson’s more than four decades of teaching, mentorship, and scholarship.
St. Lawrence University was recently honored with the “Summa Cum Laude” award from United Way of Northern New York, which recognizes the University’s “unwavering commitment” and “honors-level leadership” in support of the local community.
