St. Lawrence alumni have always known the power of the Laurentian network. Now the rest of the country does too.
St. Lawrence University has earned the No. 1 spot in the nation for its alumni network among private colleges and universities, according to The Princeton Review’s 2025 Best Value Colleges guide. The ranking reflects what’s long been true: Laurentians don’t just stay connected—they lift others as they climb.
“I am thrilled that after many years of being recognized among the top five, we are now known as having the very best alumni network in the country,” says President Kate Morris. “Our alumni don’t just stay connected—they open doors, offer guidance, and create real opportunities for our students. It’s that network of support that helps turn a St. Lawrence education into meaningful careers and lifelong success.”

This recognition is more than a ranking. It’s a celebration of the deep-rooted Laurentian ethos—generosity, mentorship, pride, and purpose. Laurentians regularly serve as mentors through the Center for Career Excellence, provide internships and job opportunities, and bring students into professional networks around the world. It’s a natural extension of the values that define a St. Lawrence education.
“The core of a liberal arts education—critical thinking, curiosity, collaboration, lifelong learning, and responsibility to others—also shapes how our graduates show up for one another,” says Alison Del Rossi, Vice President of the University and Dean of Academic Affairs.
St. Lawrence also earned the #4 spot on the list of “Top 20 Best Private Schools for Internships” and appeared again among the “Best Schools for Making an Impact.” In all, just 209 schools made the Best Value Colleges list out of more than 650 surveyed. Rankings are based on 40+ factors, including academics, affordability, and career outcomes. And it doesn’t stop there: last fall, St. Lawrence was also recognized on the lists for having the “Most Accessible Professors,” “Best Science Lab Facilities,” and “Most Active Student Government.”
“Between our dynamic student culture, incredible faculty, and— of course—our powerful alumni network, St. Lawrence offers an experience that empowers students to thrive,” says President Morris. “This is why St. Lawrence continues to be an outstanding choice for today’s students—and why our community keeps getting stronger with every graduating class.”
