Making Accessible, Fillable PDF Forms
- Create the pdf correctly in Word.
- Open the pdf in Acrobat Pro.
- Run the Accessibility Check.
- In the report pane, open the Tags view and delete the tags.
- Open the Prepare Form tool. You will have to re-save the pdf and then Acrobat will auto-identify any form fields.
- Check to make sure the fields have been identified correctly. Remove erroneous fields.
- Make sure each of the fields has the correct Name and Tooltip by double-clicking on each field to bring up the properties box. Both the Name and Tooltip should be the same.
- Go to the Accessibility Tool and click Autotag Document.
- Run the Accessibility Check again and fix any issues.
- Save the final version.
