Where do I view and pay the bill?

Students will login through APR2 (where they do registration) and use their campus login information. Parents will login at https://commerce.cashnet.com/stlawupay once they have been invited as a payer.

Will I have to set up a bank account again to send e-checks (ACH payments)?

Yes, everything will need to be set up again as this is a new partner.

Is there an option to add more than one payer?

If I have access currently, do I need access again?

You will need to be given “payer access” again to receive billing statements and to be able to login to the new Transact Payments portal. While this is happening, we will however be able to speak with you about your student’s billing and financial aid, if you were given proxy access previously.

As a parent/family member, why do I need to be given “payer access” in Transact Payments-what does it do?

As a parent, if you are given payer access, you will be able to receive billing statements, login to the portal to view account activity and make payments as well as, it gives permission for the SFS staff to speak to you on your student’s behalf about billing and financial aid.

Will I be able to pay the billing charges from various accounts?

Yes! You can have multiple credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover & Amex are all accepted) and bank accounts saved in the secure site. You can also still mail paper checks/money orders and 529 payments.

How do I pay with a 529 account?

You will contact your 529 company and ask them to send a payment via paper check. Please be sure to include the student’s name and ID number.

Can I pay by check?

Yes! Please include the student’s name and ID number on the check and mail it to St. Lawrence University, Student Financial Services, 23 Romoda Drive, Canton, New York 13617.

I made a payment but the billing statement has not updated, why?

Billing statements are PDFs, which is a snapshot in time and does not change. Activity Details is the most up to the minute billing information and where changes are displayed.

Is there a fee if I pay by credit card?

Yes. There is approximately a 3% fee that is charged by credit card companies that you are responsible for.

What are the payment plan options?

Payment plan options offered are a 5-month, 4 -month & 3-month option running July-November for the fall semester and December -April for the spring semester.  Payment plans are done through our payment partner, Transact Campus.  

More than one payment plan can be set up for an individual student. If a second payment plans needs to be established, please contact the Student Financial Services Office at 315-229-5581 or sfs@stlawu.edu and we will assist you with that.

If I am enrolled in a payment plan, will I be charged interest or have a hold on my account?

As long as you are making your monthly payment on time, you will not have interest charged or a financial hold on your account. However, if you set up a payment plan but still have a balance after the payment plan is set up, you could be subject to interest charges and holds.

If I have set up my payment plan but the amount I have budgeted has changed, what do I do?

You are able to change your payment plan budget amount in your Transact Payments portal or you can contact Student Financial Services at 315-229-5581 or sfs@stlawu.edu and we will assist you.

Will I be able to access my statements from the old billing partner?

No. If you need a statement printed, we will be able to supply that to you upon request.

Fall bill payments are due August 15 and Spring bill payments are due January 15.

When will interest begin to accrue on overdue balances?

Interest and holds for Fall balances will begin September 15 and at each billing statement until balance is resolved.

How do I request a refund of an account credit?

If you have an overpayment on your account and would like to request a refund, please email sfs@stlawu.edu.
