Faculty Instructions on the Student Records Release Form in APR2

We’re pleased to announce a new feature in APR2. Effective August 1, 2026, all students must use the Student Records Release form in APR2 to grant permission to individuals who may discuss or receive information from a student’s record.

Student records are protected by law, and the University requires student authorization before releasing information such as grades, billing, tuition and fees, financial aid, and other educational record information to third parties.

Beginning September 14, 2026, permissions entered by students in APR2 will take precedence over any previous forms or notes (the NOTES tab in APR2 will no longer be available).

Use the steps below to see records release information for your students and advisees. As a reminder, direct immediate academic concerns to the Academic Advising Office or Starfish. For additional questions, contact the Registrar’s Office.

  1. To check a student's record permissions, hover over their name and select View Full Profile. Any active permissions will display below. Before releasing any information, you must verify the student-assigned PIN provided by the contact.

  2. If no permission has been applied or the student has denied all permission, the following information appears.   NO information can be released if this is the case.
