Alpha Psi Omega Theatre Honor Society
Alpha Psi Omega is the premier National Theatre Honor Society for college-level theatre. Since its founding in 1925, APO has recognized and celebrated the dedication, artistry, and achievements of collegiate theatre-makers across the country.
St. Lawrence University is home to the Omega Mu chapter. To be considered for induction into the chapter, students must meet the following criteria as laid out in our chapter's constitution:
- Be currently enrolled at St. Lawrence University
- At least a 3.0 grade-point average overall
- Sustained participation in University Theatre productions (currently defined as participation in two different semesters, which do not need to be consecutive, and earning 100 points using Alpha Psi Omega's national standards for assessing theatre participation outlined in the chapter's constitution)
- Successful completion of two theatre/performance courses at St. Lawrence University (3.0 minimum grade earned in each course).
To maintain membership, Omega Mu members must regularly attend chapter meetings and participate in service projects or events organized by the chapter.
Eligible students may be nominated by a faculty advisor or a member of the student-led executive committee. Eligible students may also self-nominate by contacting a faculty advisor.
Why join?
This chapter shares in the mission of the national organization to celebrate and recognize achievement, dedication, and passion in the theatre arts. The chapter promotes artistic excellence, collaboration, and community within our theatre and performance program. Most importantly, Alpha Psi Omega chapters include community-minded students and faculty committed to supporting theatre and performance at our institution.
