Chic Choc Mountains, Québec

This extended trip takes place on the Gaspe Peninsula in eastern Quebec. The Chic Choc mountains offer treeless slopes and peaks, abundant snow fall (average 12 feet of snow per year), and significant relief (3000'), all of which make for some of the best backcountry skiing east of the Rockies! We will explore the backcountry by day and stay in a small cabin heated by a woodstove at night. Our daily trips will involve touring through the mountains to secluded bowls, glades, and couloirs.  This trip offers instruction  in route finding and avalanche assessment, avalanche search and rescue, and advanced ski techniques.
