Never climbed before? Never fear! Our qualified and helpful staff are excited to help introduce new people to climbing. If you’ve never climbed or belayed before let us know and we’ll take care of everything.

Want to learn some skills? We got you! Ask any of our staff during normal climbing wall hours and they will be happy to teach you how to tie-in to the rope, belay your partner and check you off to climb and belay.

Eager to push yourself? Lead climbing, advanced movement and rope & rescues skills are a few of the clinics we run throughout the semester.

No matter your ability, our goal is to help get you on the wall and challenging yourself!

Collecting Payment and Memberships at the Munro Family Climbing Wall 

Who needs to pay: 

  • People who are not related with SLU must pay a day fee, purchase a punch card or a semester membership 

  • People can have an SLU ID to access the gym but may not be a student or work for the school. If this is the case, they will need to buy a day pass or purchase a punch card or semester membership. This is because the climbing wall is not associated with the gym and it’s facilities. 

  • Students, Fac/Staff and their immediate family members can use the wall for free 

How to pay: 

  • A day pass can be purchased for $10 by cash or check at the climbing wall office. 
  • Checks should be made out to SLU Outdoor Program 

  • A punch card or semester membership can be purchased over the phone or in person weekdays between the hours of 1-4pm, by card or check only 

  • To pay over the phone with a credit card call the Outdoor Program at: (315) 229-5016 

  • To pay for a punch card or semester membership in person go to the Outdoor Program Office between the 1-4pm to provide payment in the form of card or check.  

  • If a punch card or semester membership are purchased on the phone it will be available for pick up in the climbing wall office. 

Prices: 

  • Day Pass: $10 (cash or check) 
  • Kids 12 and under: $5 

  • Punch Card (five punches): $40 (card or check) 

  • Kids 12 and under: $20 

  • Semester Membership: $75 (card or check) 

  • Kids 12 and under: $37.50 

  • ***We do not accept cash for punch cards or semester memberships—only card or checks*** 

  • Birthday Parties/special events: $50/hour (card or check)
