-------
December 26 – 30th 2020: during this time period the University will be closed with only essential personnel as needed. The President has once again designated up to three days (based on your regular schedule) as extra paid holiday days for permanent staff to provide more time to enjoy the holiday season while maintaining necessary university functions. Supervisors will work with staff regarding necessary assignments and procedures for payroll. Non-exempt (hourly) and exempt (salaried) staff will not need to account for these days in their vacation banks for 2020-2021.
December 22-23, 2020: For 2020 only, in recognition of the workload brought on by COVID-19 pandemic response, President Fox has established December 22-23 as extra paid holidays for permanent staff. Supervisors will work with staff regarding necessary assignments and procedures for payroll, which will be exactly the same as for the already-announced President's Holidays cited above. Non-exempt (hourly) and exempt (salaried) staff will not need to account for these days in their vacation banks for 2020-2021.
Maintaining Operations: As in the past, it is anticipated that a complete shutdown of all operations for all holidays is impractical. Each administrator will determine the degree of operation and staff required during the holiday period, and advise appropriate departments well in advance of the particular holiday so that proper arrangements can be made for telephone services, emergencies, etc.
Non-Exempt Personnel
Eligibility requirements for holiday pay and overtime pay provisions may be found under the holiday section of the applicable documents for non-exempt employees. These provisions will apply to the Dec 22-23, 2020, days as well.
