Creating Links

Linking from text in the Body/WYSIWYG Editor

1. Select the text you want to create the link from.

2. Click the Link icon in the top row of the editor.

3. For a link to content on the SLU website, start typing the title of the page you want to link to in the URL field and look for the page you want to link to in the options that will appear below. Both the title and the URL path will appear. Select the page you want to link to and click Save.

4. If you can't find the page in that matter, navigate to the content in another window/tab and copy everything beginning with the first slash after www.stlawu.edu - /offices/department-name/page-title - and then go back to the Link field and paste. That should give you the page you are looking for, so select it from the list below the field and click Save.

5. I you are linking to content off the www.stlawu.edu domain, you will need to copy the entire URL for the page and paste it into the URL field and click Save.

Links from Menu Items and Other Components

1. This process works somewhat similarly, except the autocomplete Link text to chose from won't include the URL/path, so if the page has a common title, it might be hard to find. First, try typing the title of the page you want to link to. If it comes up and is unambiguous, select it and click Save. If not, copy beginning with the first slash after www.stlawu.edu - /offices/department-name/page-title - and then go back to the Link field and paste.
