Specifically, the HR Department will:
provide a highly effective recruitment & hiring function with commitment to the University's affirmative action obligations
work to maintain a positive working environment that supports the retention of good employees
develop policies and procedures and take action as needed to implement the university's equity policies to create a working environment free of harassment and discrimination
provide training and development opportunities for employees to enhance personal growth, job effectiveness, and career skills
develop, monitor, and maintain personnel policies and procedures
manage and administer effective benefits plans
manage effective and competitive wage and salary policies
manage and enhance employee relations and collective bargaining unit relations
monitor university compliance with state and federal law pertaining to workplace and employment practices
maintain personnel records
provide information to employees and the university community
