Onsite Health Screening FAQs
What is a health screening?
A health screening is one way to assess your risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure. It does not replace your annual physical exam. Onsite health screenings will be offered on 11/17 and 11/18.
What do I need to do to prepare for my screening?
Fasting is strongly recommended for best results. Fasting means that you would not have any food or drink (other than water) 8 or more hours prior to your screening appointment. Please remember to drink plenty of water prior to your appointment to ensure that you are hydrated. On your screening day, you should take any prescribed medications as indicated by your doctor.
What happens during an onsite screening event?
Each screening appointment takes approximately 15 minutes from start to finish. Once you arrive at the screening location, a greeter will guide you through the paperwork and perform your height and weight measurement. You will then be directed to the next available screener where the screener will perform a quick fingerstick to test for the following:
• Total Cholesterol
• HDL cholesterol
• TC/HDL Ratio
• LDL cholesterol
• Triglycerides
• Glucose
Your blood pressure, waist circumference and BMI (Body Mass Index) will be measured while your bloodwork is being analyzed. Bloodwork results are available within approximately 6 minutes and the US Wellness onsite screening technician will review all the results with you and provide a brief counseling session based on your results.
Who is eligible to participate in the onsite health screenings?
All eligible employees may participate in the onsite health screening. You will need to sign consent forms prior to your screening.
Is there a cost to participate in the health screening?
No, the service is provided free of charge. Your insurance will not be billed.

How accurate is the equipment used during health screenings?
The results received during an onsite screening are comparable to a blood draw performed by your doctor. The cholesterol analyzer used in testing is certified by CRMLN (CDC’s Cholesterol Reference Method Laboratory Network) and values comply with total error (TE) rates set forth by the National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Please note that a person’s cholesterol level is variable over time and is affected by the food they eat, any medication (prescription and over the counter), their body chemistry, and metabolism.
What happens to my health screening data after the event?

Any questions regarding HIPAA or patient confidentiality should be directed to US Wellness at (888) 926-6099 x900 or support@uswellness.com.
