    Sarah Knobel curates "Subject-Object" Art Exhibit

    Sarah Knobel, Associate Professor of Art & Art History, has curated an art exhibit named "Subject-Object" at the Richard F. Brush Art Gallery. The exhibit includes work from a dozen or more contemporary artists as well as work from the permanent collection of the Art Gallery.

    Following a competitive application process, Sarath Novas ’23 has been selected for the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, an award that will support her off-campus study in London during the Spring 2022 semester.

Recently, faculty published journal articles with students and alumni, presented scholarly papers at conferences, showcased artwork with alumni, and shared their career journeys with doctoral students. 

  4. $84,000 in Funding Available for North Country Arts Events

    The St. Lawrence County Arts Council (SLC Arts) will be awarding $84,000 in grant funding, throughout Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties, to fund 2022 arts experiences. Through the New York State Council on the Arts’ State Community Regrants Program, grants are available to artists, collectives, local municipalities, public libraries, and non-profit organizations. Projects in any artistic field - music, visual arts, theater, dance, electronic media, film and literary arts, etc. - will be supported.

  5. 4th Annual SUNY New Paltz Undergraduate Art History Symposium

    Starting Friday, April 8 through Sunday, April 10, 2022 SUNY New Paltz will host its fourth annual Undergraduate Art History Symposium. This year's event will be virtual, allowing for many more participants than an onsite symposium.

  6. Remington 2022 College Student Juried Art Exhibit

    The Frederic Remington Art Museum is pleased to invite student artists at Clarkson University, St. Lawrence University, SUNY Plattsburgh, and SUNY Potsdam to submit entries to the 2022 College Student Juried Art Exhibit. Artworks in all visual media using any combination of materials and techniques are welcome.
