Dr. Marcella Salvi, Lewis Professor of WLCM published an essay in the peer-reviewed volume, Donne Resilienti (Resilient Women, Eds. Di Filippo, Spani, Marino. QuodManet, 2023). Dr. Salvi’s essay focuses on the works by the Italian writer Elsa Morante (1912-1986) and Spanish author Carmen Martín Gaite (1925-2000) and is a reflection on the role of literature in recovering lost memory and in building resilience during traumatic historical events.
