SLU Wins All Weekend Long

Women’s Track and Field: St. Lawrence opened the Holiday Relays with multiple wins. Junior Carly Zack won the 3000 in 11:03.29, junior Quinn Sirgany took the mile in 5:27.09, junior Charlotte Blake won the 1000 in 3:21.10, and senior Amelia Berthold claimed the 60-meter hurdles in 9.82.

Men’s Track and Field: The Saints posted several victories at the Holiday Relays. Junior Riley Cushman won the 600, first-year Luke Calvin captured the mile, and sophomore Erik Marelli won the 60 hurdles. St. Lawrence swept the relays and added field wins from junior Brendan O’Horo in the pole vault (3.95m) and junior John Mahoney in the long jump at 6.31 meters.

Women’s Basketball: Senior Jackie Malley scored 21 points and senior Hannah Van Dyke grabbed 12 rebounds to spark a fourth-quarter comeback in a five-point win at Rensselaer. The Saints move to 5-2 overall and 1-1 in league play heading into Wednesday’s home game vs. Hamilton.

Swimming and Diving: The men’s team advanced on the scoreboard at the Don Richards Invitational to place fourth, while the women’s team placed fifth overall among a crowded field at the large invite in Rochester, N.Y. First-year Sophie Nelson picked up a win for the Saints, securing victory in the 1650-yard freestyle.

Saints Dance the Night Away💃🏻🕺🏽 

This past weekend, the SLU Dance Ensemble performed their annual show—an expression of bold ideas, creative energy, and the spirit of our campus arts community. After a semester of studying different styles of dance and collaborating on choreography, our performers brought three nights of dynamic storytelling to the Gulick Theatre stage. Saints Shatter Records; Head to Liberty League Championships

The Saints track and field teams dominated the Intercollegiate Twilight Meet as Kimberly Merchant ’22 set a program record in the discus and several Saints secured top spots in their competitions as they head into the Liberty League Championships this weekend. Women’s lacrosse is headed to the Liberty Leagues after defeating RIT 21-14 to set a new program record for wins in a season and securing a 16-13 victory over Nazareth while men’s tennis beat Ithaca 6-3 after dominating SUNY Oswego 9-0 on the road. Saints Baseball defeated Skidmore 15-5 and 18-8 in a doubleheader after securing a 22-6 win over SUNY Canton 22-6 earlier in the week. Over the weekend, the softball team concluded its regular season while the men’s and women’s rowing and golf teams closed their respective seasons during the Liberty League Championships.  For up-to-date schedules, news, and scores visit SaintsAthletics.com.

Tapping Into Tradition

A beloved campus tradition returned to our campus during Moving-Up Day. The Omicron Delta Kappa honor society tapping ceremony welcomed several new members in recognition of their scholarship, leadership, service, and creativity. The Class of 2024’s Commencement was an extra special occasion—for many, it was their first “real” graduation after their high school ceremony was cancelled due to the global pandemic.

You've left your mark on our campus with your creativity, resilience, and profound care for one another. You've built a community of scholars, athletes, artists, and activists that will continue to support and inspire you for the rest of your life. It's been an honor to watch you grow and it’s an honor to celebrate your commencement.
