Reunion Rewind

Laurentians representing their 15th, 25th, 35th, 50th, 55th, 60th, 65th, 70th, and 75th reunion milestones, along with the Class of 2021, recently returned to campus for a weekend filled with old friendships and new memories. While we can’t put the weekend on rewind, revisiting the friends, laughter, and memories might be the next best thing. Saints Make Canada's National Selection Camp, Season Tickets Now Available

Members of the women's ice hockey team Julia Gosling '23 and Abby Hustler '25 received invitations to join Canada’s National Women’s Program camp. During the 11-day camp, the pair will vye for spots on Canada’s National Women’s Team, Canada’s National Women’s Development Team, and Canada’s National Women’s Under-18 Team. This Week in Athletics!

Men’s lacrosse qualified for the NCAA tournament via an at-large bid after completing their season as Liberty League semifinalists. The Saints had their best start in program history at 11-0 and finished the season 14-2 with a share of the regular season title with a 6-1 league record. They will make their way back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2022 and the third time since 2017, and are headed to Wesleyan to face Plymouth State on Saturday. 

For men’s lacrosse major awards, Judge Murphy '24 was named the Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year, while Daniel Mahoney '27 was named the Rookie of the Year. 7 Saints earned All-League accolades and head coach Mike Mahoney '93 earned Coach of the Year honors.

Women’s lacrosse defender Haley Sundstrom '25 earned Second-Team All-Liberty League honors, while midfielder Neve Ley '25 earned Honorable Mention accolades for the women's lacrosse team, as announced by the league office on Tuesday morning.

After earning their 14th straight Intercollegic Horse Shows Competition (IHSA) Regional title, the riding team advanced to nationals as a team this past week, finishing fourth overall. After earning Reserve Champion honors at Zones, the Saints competed against the 16 best programs, representing the 353 competing schools.

In the men’s outdoor track and field season, Zach Jaworski '25, Nick Lyndaker '26 and Patrick Russell '26 had all-conference performances at the outdoor track and field championships this past weekend. St. Lawrence finished fifth overall. The Saints now head to regionals with many athletes qualified.

Women’s track and field saw Emma Palumbo '25 and Alli Sibold '24 earn all-Liberty League honors at the outdoor track and field championship, with Alli getting an honorable mention in the 1500 meter race and Emma taking second-team honors in the 3000 meter steeplechase. The Saints will also head to regionals beginning next week.

Saints Make 2022 Winter Olympic Appearances

St. Lawrence student-athletes and alumni will represent Teams U.S.A., Canada, Denmark, and China as they compete for gold in women's ice hockey, skiing, and skeleton racing at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Saints Women's Squash Claim Liberty League Championships; Winter Sports Continue

Saints Women’s Squash claimed the Liberty League Championship this weekend after dominating Vassar 9-0, William Smith 6-3, and Bard 9-0. The tournament championship win is the fourth for the Saints. Women’s Ice Hockey topped Quinnipiac 5-1 on Sunday and 2-1 on Saturday after Lucy Morgan ’23 recorded her ninth career shutout and Suyeon Eom ’24 scored her first collegiate goal during the team’s 3-0 win over Princeton earlier in the week. Men’s Ice Hockey battled to a 1-1 tie with Brown on Saturday after defeating Yale 2-1 in overtime on Friday. The weekend wins continued with Saints Women’s Basketball topping William Smith 69-48 and RIT 69-61 while Men’s Basketball defeated Hobart 66-46 and RIT 77-86.  During the Liberty League Championship weekend, Men’s Squash beat Hobart 8-1, Bard 9-0, and Vassar 9-0 but the University of Rochester ultimately secured the Liberty League title. At the Bomber Invitational, Men’s Track and Field won the two-team distance medley relay while Timothy Boyce ’25 won the mile and Women’s Track and Field’s Katherine Sheehy ’23 won the 5,000 meters. Saints Riding Named Reserve Champs; Spring Sports Continue

The riding team is headed to the IHSA Nationals after being named the Reserve Champions at the IHSA Zone II Finals on Saturday. Following the show, St. Lawrence University President Kathryn Morris presented the Saints with the Reserve Champion trophy. The wins for the Scarlet and Brown continued with Saints Softball defeating Union (7-6, 6-3) after dominating Wells (21-0, 25-0) and SUNY Plattsburgh (11-4) while Saints Baseball secured wins over RIT (6-5) and SUNY Canton (11-7). Men’s lacrosse defeated Skidmore 22-4 after topping SUNY Plattsburgh 25-5 and women’s lacrosse defeated Skidmore 21-13, Union 16-12, and SUNY Canton 20-11 while women’s tennis beat William Smith 7-2. For up-to-date schedules, news, and scores visit SaintsAthletics.com.

Student Talent Takes the Stage

St. Lawrence student talent was on full display during University Theatre's recent production of  "30 Plays from Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind (30 Neo-Futurist Plays in 60 Minutes)!” Each performance featured 60 small plays performed in random order and incorporating audience interaction, ensuring no performance was ever exactly the same. Saints to Compete in Liberty League Matchups

It was a great weekend to be a Saint! On Saturday, Saints men's basketball closed out the regular season with a 71-63 win over Union, the team's sixth straight victory, after topping Skidmore 65-55 on Friday. Both the men's and women's basketball teams will head to the Liberty League Semi-Finals this weekend. The wins for the Scarlet and Brown continued with Saints men's and women's tennis teams securing a pair of 9-0 wins over SUNY Oneonta at home on Saturday while men's hockey beat Cornell 1-0 on the road and women's hockey beat Princeton 3-1 at home after defeating Quinnipiac 4-1 on Friday.  During the CSA Team Nationals on Sunday, women's squash beat Haverford College 8-1 and several members of the Saints swimming and diving and track and field teams secured individual wins to qualify for league championships. Weekend Victories for the Saints

Over the weekend, Skating Saints forward Greg Lapointe '25 scored a hat trick for a four-goal weekend as three other Saints tallied double-digit points during a 5-4 victory over Princeton University. The wins continued with Maggie Wenger winning 100 and 200 freestyles in a loaded Don Richards Swim Invite at RIT.  During the Saints Track and Field Holiday Relays, the women's team won the distance medley relay while the men's team won six events to capture the team title in the season opener. Women's basketball secured a 58-50 victory over Union and  men's basketball defeated Union 74-69 as women's ice hockey skated to a 4-2 victory over Dartmouth.
