In Memory: Terry Chase

Dear Laurentian Community,

I write with the sad news that Terry Chase, a former member of Facilities Operations at St. Lawrence, has died. She was 78.

Terry took great pride in caring for our campus. Throughout her time here, she saw students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and visitors of all ages come together. It was important to her that everyone in these gatherings could take comfort and pride in their surroundings.

Terry was born in July 1943 in Potsdam. After graduating from Hermon DeKalb, she married Lyle Chase on September 27, 1962. Terry joined the staff at St. Lawrence in 1969 and retired in 2005.

A former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the DeKalb Junction Volunteer Fire Department, Terry enjoyed reading and knitting, but she loved the sunshine and her cats.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Ogdensburg SPCA.

As we mourn her passing, we are deeply grateful to Terry for her committed service to our community.

Please join us in celebrating Terry’s life by sharing your memories of her on the St. Lawrence University website. You can read the remembrances of others here.

Sincerely,
Kate Morris
