Junior Executive Board Initiatives
As an Academic Affairs Chair, I'm really excited to work with my committee on looking for alternatives to improve textbook affordability, as well as looking at the structure of syllabus presentation on APR2 and Canvas structure.
- Yeva Doskalchuk, Academic Affairs Chair
This semester, I hope to continue my efforts to expand St. Lawrence’s connections with the Canton community, as well as make information about our efforts more accessible. This semester, we will be working to compile information regarding the different ways to become directly involved with the Canton community. This information will be presented in a Community Fair, sort of like the club fair, but for job, volunteering, and outreach opportunities!
- Anthony Gabrielli, Canton Community Outreach Chair
I want to focus on bringing all identity-related clubs together through an umbrella organization. I am also excited to work on the projects that we started previous semesters, such as women's gym hours and debate tournament.
-Tuana Ciftci, Diversity and Inclusion Chair
Designing an improved Campus Climate Survey together with the Dean of Intercultural Engagement, Inclusion, & Belonging; Finding the reasons behind the low number of Bias Incident reports despite the high amount of students who have experience such incidents according to university surveys, as well integrating the reporting system with SLU Central.
- Ralfs Puhalskis, Examining Systemic Bias Chair
I’m most excited to work on improving student engagement in Thelmo elections and debates, both from candidates and voters. By ensuring that the student body is well-informed about the accessible voting process and open roles, I'm hoping to increase both voter turnout and the number of candidates running.
- Josephine Lambert, Elections Committee Chair
This semester, I am looking forward to hosting a Green Up Day with the Canton community, supporting sustainability initiatives on campus, and exploring realistic steps for St. Lawrence to move closer to carbon neutrality.
-Skyler Gade, Environmental Affairs Chair
I'm especially enthusiastic about working with the various departments that celebrate international diversity at SLU. I'm eager to collaborate on new, and old, initiatives that will have a positive, tangible impact on the entire student body. Lastly, as a Freshman, I'm also really looking forward to using this experience to learn and grow, both personally and professionally.
-Louise Tusiime, International Affairs Chair
This semester, the Student Life Committee will work to provide various on-campus opportunities for self-expression, community building, and so much more! We are committed to working alongside the SLU student body to create events and spaces on campus where students feel welcomed, heard, and included.
- Annie Cyr, Student Life Chair
