MINUTES OF ST. LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY SAFETY COMMITTEE/
ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON CAMPUS SECURITY HELD VIA TEAMS
ON FRIDAY, March 6, 2025, STARTING AT 800 A.M.
Chairperson: Pat Gagnon, Co-Chair, called meeting to order at 0803
Present: Marsha Sawyer, Kasarian Dane, Amber Jaquith, Secretary, Nick Ormasen, Co-Chair, Sam Mace, Tara Tent, Pat Gagnon, Co-Chair, Stacie Olney-LaPierre, Marijo Hagget, Ceyda Kartal, Alana Belkevich, Mary Charleston, & Marcus Sherburne,

Approval of the Minutes: Minutes from February 6th, 2025 – Pat Gagnon, made a motion to approve, Alana Belkevich & Marcha Sawyer Seconded motion, all other members concurred
Guest: Claire Mcfarland – our new Student Representative - Welcome
New Business:
Ice & Snow clean up around campus – Many slip & falls have occurred with the weather we have had. Last month alone there were 7 total. Marcus has been working with his crew to identify all areas that need improvement for the timely clearing of wintry precipitation. Ceyda has also been working with Marcus on improving some of the stairs going into buildings to make them safer in the winter months. As winter moves into spring the heaving of walkways will continue as the ground thaws and Marcus will be monitoring these with his crew.
Ceyda – We have now added stop bleed to all AEDs on Campus. So, all AED’s have a first aid kit, Narcan, & Stop Bleed.
Alana – SLU EMS is working on doing a Stop the Bleed training for the campus. More info to come once it has been organized.
