Cybersecurity at St. Lawrence
Cybersecurity awareness training is an important part of educating faculty, staff and students to better identify suspicious activity, avoid phishing scams and to protect their accounts from unauthorized access. Campuses that receive annual training for cybersecurity reduce the risk of a cyber attack or data breach. Information Technology is committed to teaching our users best practices in keeping themselves safe online.
Staying vigilant and safe online helps not only yourself, but the institution as well, as cyber attacks on one member of a community lead to additional attacks, all of which have awful concequences. According to the CISA, lapses in cybersecurity can lead to "malware erasing your entire system, an attacker breaking into your system and altering files, an attacker using your computer to attack others, or an attacker stealing your credit card information and making unauthorized purchases."
