Ottawa, home of the Canadian parliament, is just a hop, skip and a bridge away for St. Lawrence students to discover. Our proximity to Canada allows our students to explore and understand our closest international neighbor, and how Canada offers an alternative shared history, other ways of seeing things and another understanding of how to be North American.
Combine Canadian studies with another program such as history, government or English and take the opportunity to find out more about our neighbor to the north. Also, take advantage of opportunities to study in Canada in cities like Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City and Toronto.

Professor of Canadian Studies Joseph Jockel has co-authored a book which analyzes Canada’s involvement in the North Atlantic Treaty Alliance from 1949-2019.
St. Lawrence University announced the promotion of several faculty members at the start of the 2021-22 academic year. The promotions were celebrated during the University’s annual Convocation, which was held Wednesday, August 25. All promotions are effective September 1, 2021.
