No. 1 Alumni Network
The University was featured in North Country Now for being ranked No. 1 Alumni Network in the nation among private colleges and universities, according to The Princeton Review's "Best Value Colleges" guide for 2025.
"Our alumni don't just stay connected—they open doors, offer guidance, and create real opportunities for our students. It's that network of support that helps turn a St. Lawrence education into meaningful careers and lifelong success," says President Kate Morris.
Saints Athletics
St. Lawrence University’s Athletics was recently featured in North Country Now for the 2025 Here We Go Saints donor challenge, which raised an unprecedented $754,154 for University athletics.
The September 29-30 campaign drew 2,990 donors, another all-time high.
“This year's record-breaking results demonstrate the power of collaboration within the St. Lawrence University community,” said Franco Bari, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. Funds raised will strengthen the infrastructure and resources behind St. Lawrence's athletic programs, supporting continued excellence across all sports.
Ray Shero ’84
The late Rejean "Ray" Shero '84, former captain of the St. Lawrence University men's hockey team, was featured on the NHL website and in North Country Now for being posthumously named the recipient of the 2025 Lester Patrick Trophy for outstanding service to hockey in the United States.
Shero, who will be posthumously inducted into the Legends of Appleton on the weekend of November 14-15, will be formally honored with the Lester Patrick Trophy as part of the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Celebration on December 10 in Saint Paul.
Faculty and Staff
The St. Lawrence University employee community was recently featured in the Watertown Daily Times as well as in North Country Now for receiving the “Summa Cum Laude” award from United Way of Northern New York, which recognizes the institution’s support of the local community.
The award recognizes the contributions made by St. Lawrence faculty and staff to UWNNY over the last nearly two decades, totaling more than $300,000 since 2008.
The donations directly support critical local programs such as literacy and afterschool enrichment, as well as emergency assistance and financial stability workshops, among other initiatives that "improve quality of life and create pathways out of poverty for thousands of neighbors," UWNNY Chief Executive Officer Dawn Cole said.
