Saints to Compete in Liberty League Matchups

It was a great weekend to be a Saint! On Saturday, Saints men's basketball closed out the regular season with a 71-63 win over Union, the team's sixth straight victory, after topping Skidmore 65-55 on Friday. Both the men's and women's basketball teams will head to the Liberty League Semi-Finals this weekend. The wins for the Scarlet and Brown continued with Saints men's and women's tennis teams securing a pair of 9-0 wins over SUNY Oneonta at home on Saturday while men's hockey beat Cornell 1-0 on the road and women's hockey beat Princeton 3-1 at home after defeating Quinnipiac 4-1 on Friday.  During the CSA Team Nationals on Sunday, women's squash beat Haverford College 8-1 and several members of the Saints swimming and diving and track and field teams secured individual wins to qualify for league championships. Saints Shine: Athletes Excel Across Sports!

Women's hockey qualified for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) tournament via an at-large bid after making the ECAC tournament and playing in the semifinal game against Clarkson. The Scarlet and Brown is matched up against Pennsylvania State in its first game of the tournament scheduled for Thursday in Madison, Wisconsin. If the Saints win, the team will face off against Wisconsin.

The Saints women's hockey players were also recognized both nationally and at the conference level. Mae Batherson M'25, Emma-Sofie Nordström '26 and head coach Chris Wells were named finalists for the ECAC Defenseman of the Year, Goaltender of the Year, and Coach of the Year awards, respectively, while junior forward Abby Hustler '26 was named a top-10 finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Award, as announced by the USA Hockey Foundation. The Patty Kazmaier Award is bestowed annually to the top player in NCAA Division I women's ice hockey.

Alli Sibold '24 became the national runner-up in the mile at the NCAA indoor track and field championships in Virginia Beach, Virginia over the weekend. She set a new program record after turning in a time of 4:50.97 to eclipse the personal-best and program record marks she set earlier this season. The win also gave her All-America honors in the mile event. Earlier in the week, Alli took home US Track Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) regional track athlete of the year award, receiving all-region honors for the 3000m, mile and 800m. Nick Lyndaker '26 also received men's USTFCCCA all-region honors in the mile.

Lewis Anderson '25 tied a St. Lawrence record for program wins at the College Squash Association (CSA) Individual Nationals in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania over the weekend. With the win, the junior from Birmingham, U.K. reached 62 for his career, tying him for the program record alongside Moustafa Bayoumy '18.

Emma Strack '25 competed for the Saints at the NCAA skiing championships, posting a 16th-place finish in the 7.5k freestyle followed by a posting a top-20 finish in the 20k classic by finishing 19th.

The Green House is one of 17 total theme houses on campus! If you’re lucky enough to sit down to one of their delicious home-cooked dinners, you’ll taste local ingredients from across the North Country, thoughtfully prepared by the resident “Green Beans” with sustainability in mind.  
 
In addition to nourishing our community, members of the Green House host workshops and events for the campus community and volunteer with nearby Birdsfoot Farm. Saints Shutout the Competition

Field Hockey: Senior Sydney LeClair opened the scoring and senior Caroline Hamilton netted the go-ahead goal as St. Lawrence used a second-half surge to earn a 2-1 Liberty League win over Union on Sunday at Hall-Leet Stadium. Senior Elizabeth Walsh posted 19 saves over the week, earning Liberty League Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Women’s Soccer: Junior Sydney Keenan scored early and junior goalkeeper Zoe Davenport posted a clean sheet as St. Lawrence earned a 1–0 Liberty League road win over RIT. With nine league points, the Saints sit fifth, two points ahead of RIT and four ahead of Ithaca and RPI for the final playoff spot.

Women’s Hockey: First collegiate goals from first-years Meghan Crowley and Brooke Mulvihill, plus an empty netter from graduate student Alexa Davis and a shutout by junior goalie Kassidy Lawrence, powered No. 14 St. Lawrence to a 3-0 win over RIT to earn a weekend split.

Navya Aggarwal ’26, a double-major in business and economics, is spending the first half of her senior year interning at Neuberger Berman in New York City. The biggest challenge, she says, is also the best part—that is, finding balance  between her professional, academic, and personal life.
