About

About the Writers Series

Writers Series author readings are typically held on Thursday evenings in Sykes Common Room at St. Lawrence University.  The events are free and open to the public.  Sykes Common Room is a comfortable, elegant space with a handicapped entrance directly into the Common Room from Park Street. Refreshments are provided.  The authors read from their works for approximately 45 minutes, answer questions, and participate in a book signing.

Location

Sykes Common Room is located at 85 Park Street, Canton, NY.  Parking is available across the street. View the Campus Map.

Accessibility

There is a handicapped entrance directly in the Common Room from the Park Street doorway. There are a few handicapped parking spots at the bookstore across the street. The bookstore lot is also a good spot to drop off people with mobility issues as there is a crosswalk there, and Sykes is across the street nearby.

Accessible digital copies of the reading can be provided for the hearing and/or visually impaired. Please email English@stlawu.edu to obtain copies.

Book Sales

The St. Lawrence University Brewer Bookstore staff is on hand for each reading with copies of the author’s books for sale.  Immediately following the reading is a Q & A session with the author and a book signing.
