The pandemic didn't stop these physics majors from completing their senior research projects.
Physics is the study of the fundamental principles that govern the entire natural world, from the atomic nucleus and elementary particles to the dimensions of the universe and the search for dark energy. Our students investigate these principles in small classes with emphasis on lab experiences, and many opportunities for faculty-led research. Physics majors leave St. Lawrence with the skills to pursue further study in a wide range of fields, such as engineering, astrophysics, and materials science.
Assistant Professor of Physics Massooma Pirbhai knows that equipping students with the practical tools they'll need to excel in their chosen career paths starts in the classroom.
St. Lawrence University faculty members put their knowledge into action so students and others are able to benefit from it. Most often their research is published in peer-reviewed journals and articles and through lectures, as well as through conference papers and presentations. Take a look at what faculty members recently shared.
