Living on campus is a big part of the St. Lawrence experience. Each first-year residence hall offers something a little different, from layout and location to community feel. 

Below, you’ll find a quick look at our first-year residence halls to help you get a sense of your new home and answers to commonly asked questions.

Gaines Hall at Saint Lawrence University is a red-brick building with white columns and large windows. The front lawn includes wooden chairs for outdoor seating under the shade of nearby trees. The building has a classic look and is surrounded by green space.

Gaines has a newly renovated lounge and houses about 50 first-year students.

Recently renovated, Lee Hall is located on the south side of campus near Rebert Hall and is attached to Eben Holden, a campus space for small events.

Newly renovated, Rebert Hall primarily houses first-year students and is located directly across from the Sullivan Student Center.

Whitman Hall

Whitman Hall, the University’s most recently renovated residence hall, will reopen during the Fall 2025 semester.

Yes. St. Lawrence allows all students to bring cars to campus. Students will be billed for a non-refundable fee and will be issued a parking permit for their assigned lot. A parking permit does not guarantee the availability of a parking space, but does grant the privilege of using SLU parking areas. 

Move-in is Saturday, August 23.
