MINUTES OF ST. LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY SAFETY COMMITTEE/

ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON CAMPUS SECURITY HELD VIA ZOOM

ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2024, STARTING AT 800 A.M.

Chairperson:   Patrick Gagnon, Co-Chair called meeting to order at 0802 

Present: Nick Ormasen, Co-Chair, Alana Belkevich, Susan Johnson, Secretary, Bob Hance, Suna Stone, Marsha Sawyer, Aidan Gallagher, Dean Manley, Jim Kozsan, Kasarian Dane and Tara Tent

Apologies: Marcus Sherburne, Stacie Olney-LaPierre, Mary Charleston, Tim Kinch, Steve Richards, Bill Ritchie, Jerrianne Stephens and Sharmela Garcia-Martin

Approval of the Minutes: Motion passed  

Guest:

New Business: 

• Dean updated the committee on the EH&S Website, specifically the Hazard Report Form. This form will help communicate hazardous safety concerns to the point people quickly. Examples include tree limbs hanging over sidewalks, streets, etc., potential trip/fall hazards, etc. The form can be submitted anonymously or signed.
  • Reminder that Yak Tracks will be available free of charge for employees from the Warehouse.

Old Business:

• Bob followed up with Kevin Angstadt regarding the access between Johnson Hall and Bewkes which needs work and replacement of entry doors. The design documents will be done prior to January 2025 for bids to be submitted and it is hopeful for Summer 2025 completion

Future Meetings: The Safety Committee meetings will continue to be the first Friday of the month.  starting Dates are 12/6/2024, 2/7/2025, 3/7/2025, 4/4/2025, 5/2/2025 and 6/6/2025. Meetings will continue to be held on Zoom.
