Kit Thomas (they/she) is an internationally exhibiting Two-Spirit Haudenosaunee mixed-media painter. Based in Akwesasne, they create work rooted in memory, ancestry, and spiritual presence. Using bold color and unconventional surfaces like bingo cards, Thomas weaves stories of resilience, identity, and belonging. They are also an advocate for community, healing, and cultural connection, and serve as a Council Member to the Chiefs of Ontario through the Fire Keepers of the Circle.

Reading & Book Signing with Honni David

Arihhonni (Honni) David is an author and illustrator from Akwesasne, Ontario. His vibrant visuals span logos, comics, and children’s books, with storytelling that honors Haudenosaunee heritage and culture. David is the author of Who Will Win? (2023) and The Good Game (2024), a retelling of the origin story of lacrosse. This event includes a reading and book signing.

Kanenon:we – Original Seeds explores the Indigenous seed sovereignty movement led by Haudenosaunee women. Prior to European contact, Indigenous communities cultivated rich food systems, with women serving as primary caretakers of seeds. The film examines how colonial practices disrupted these traditions and highlights contemporary Haudenosaunee seed keepers working to protect biodiversity and reclaim food sovereignty.
