Pedagogy and Instructional Mini-Grant Opportunities
Pedagogy Conference Funds
Tenure-track and tenured faculty members may access funds to attend pedagogy conferences. If the faculty member is presenting at a pedagogy conference (including but not limited to presenting a poster or paper, running a workshop or participating on a panel), conference-related expenses will be reimbursed up to $1400. If the faculty member is attending but not presenting at the conference, reimbursement will be up to $1100. Each faculty member is eligible to attend one pedagogy conference per year. Requests should be for conferences dedicated to the improvement of teaching and learning that either cross disciplinary boundaries and focus on teaching, or for discipline-specific conferences devoted to the improvement of teaching and learning in that discipline. Requests for pedagogy funding to professional disciplinary meetings that, along with the usual scholarly panels, also contain a small number of sessions on pedagogical issues, are not eligible for this funding, and should be funded through the regular professional travel process. Instructional Mini-Grant
Instructional Mini-Grants support teaching by making funds available for activities and pedagogies that fall outside of departmental operating budgets. Instructional Mini-Grants provide quick access to modest funds (maximum $500) for small-scale projects. Faculty are eligible to receive one mini-grant per fiscal year. Funds may be used to revise aspects, strategies, or procedures of current courses, develop new courses, add new activities/approaches to courses, purchase technology, or to assess curricular needs. RESTRICTIONS—an Instructional Mini-Grant cannot be used to:
- Hire faculty members or pay faculty salaries or stipends.

Purchase, repair, or replace equipment

Pay honoraria in excess of $100 per guest speaker

Fund conference registration fees or conference travel

Cover food and entertainment expenses for workshops or conferences
