In the hallway Gallery, the show features a group of mokuhanga pillar prints, created in 2025 as an international exchange portfolio. Pillar prints (hashira-e) are tall, narrow woodblock prints measuring approximately 4 1/2 x 28 inches. Popularized in the latter half of the 18th century, hashira-e were more accessible than silk scrolls and designed to be hung from support posts in traditional Japanese homes.
