MINIMUM INSURANCE REQUIREMENT
Workers Compensation and Disability Benefits Insurance as required by law.
Employer’s Liability Insurance - Unlimited amount.
Comprehensive General Liability Insurance - $1,000,000 Combined Single Limit for Bodily Injury & Property Damage / $2,000,000 Aggregate.
Automobile Liability, including owned, non-owned, and hired vehicles - $1,000,000 Combined Single Limit for Bodily Injury & Property Damage.
Comprehensive General Liability Insurance and Automobile Liability Insurance shall be extended to adequately protect the contractor’s subcontractors.
The policies required above shall name St. Lawrence University, its Board of Trustees, its officers, employees, agents and volunteers as an Additional Insured using ISO Additional Insured Endorsement CG 2010 and CG 2037 (Completed Operations) or a substitute providing equivalent coverage. A copy of the Additional Insured Endorsement/Language shall be provided to St. Lawrence University. This coverage shall be on a primary and non-contributing basis with respect to the project to which these insurance requirements pertain. These policies are to be primary, with written consent of the insurers to the primacy of the policies, over any valid and collectible insurance and waive all rights of subrogation against St. Lawrence University. Insurance Carriers must be financially acceptable to St. Lawrence University and insurance policies MUST be written with an Insurance Carrier authorized to do business in the State of New York, with an A.M. Best Rating of A- VII or better.
Insurance Certificates must be submitted, including a copy of the Additional Insured Endorsement/Language, and approved, prior to work commencing.
St. Lawrence University reserves the right to require higher insurance limits on any contract provided notice of such requirements is stated in the proposal for such contract. Included in the Purchase Order/Contract shall be a hold harmless agreement saving St. Lawrence University harmless from any liability from the contractor or from any subcontractors or by anyone directly or indirectly employed by either. A thirty (30) day notice of cancellation of non-renewal in writing shall be furnished by certified mail to the certificate holder at the address indicated on the face of this form.
The Contractor hereby agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless St. Lawrence University and its current and former Trustees, Officers, employees, students, agents and volunteers, from and against all liability, claims, and demands, on account of injury, loss, damage, or expense, including defense costs, court costs and attorney fees, which arise out of or are in any manner connected with this contract. The contractor agrees that it will, at all times, and at least for one (1) year after the completion of the work, indemnify and save harmless St. Lawrence University against liabilities resulting from bodily injury or property damage directly or indirectly arising out of the performance or nonperformance on the contract.
All confined space work shall comply with occupational safety and health administration (OSHA) regulations 29cfr 1910.146. Contractors are responsible for providing a written confined space entry/rescue program. Proof of a confined space entrant and attendant training is required prior to any confined space work. All contractors are required to provide their own equipment and comply with St. Lawrence University contractor guidelines established in our confined space policy. All hot work must comply with the Hot Work Requirements for Contractors section of the University’s hot work procedures and all other applicable safety laws and regulations.
