Films are typically added into modules as items directly or on to pages shared via modules. This article will outline steps for both options:
To add a film directly to a module as a link:
- Log into Canvas at: https://stlawu.instructure.com and go to your course.
- Create a new, or click into existing module.
- Click the '+' icon in the module to add an item.
- From the drop-down menu, choose 'External Tool'
- From the external tools window, choose 'Panopto Video.
- In the Panopto window drop-down menu, change this to 'Everything'
- Search for film by title, or call number.
- Select film and then choose Insert.
- TIP - if search does not locate film, be sure to use specific key words or call # (not both at same time)
To add (embed) a film into a page:
- Log into Canvas at: https://stlawu.instructure.com and go to your course.
- Create (or edit an existing) page.
- Place cursor where you would like to insert the film.
- Choose the "plug" icon in the editor.
- Choose 'Panopto Video' (or 'View All' if it does not show)
- In the Panopto window drop-down menu, change this to 'Everything'
- Search for film by title, or call number.
- TIP - if search does not locate film, be sure to use specific key words or call # (not both at same time)
- Select film and then choose Insert. (and then Save if finished)
- Video will be added to page, you can click away and continue adding text as needed.
