Weekend of Winning!It was a winning weekend for the Saints! Starting on Friday, the Women's Hockey team triumphed over RPI with a 4-1 win, while the Men's Hockey team secured a 5-2 victory against Ferris State University. Saturday the Men's Swimming and Diving team defeated Bard College 57-7, and the Women's team won with a score of 121-49. Women's Hockey continued their winning streak with a 6-1 victory against Union College, and the Volleyball team brought home a 3-1 win against SUNY Potsdam. Federal Grant Supports Commitment to Student Mental Health and Well-BeingSt. Lawrence University has received a three-year, $287,061 grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to support its Comprehensive Care Network (CCN) Project. The project will use evidence-based approaches to improve the identification and treatment of at-risk students and expand access to services that address mental health, suicide prevention, and substance misuse. |

In women’s soccer, Lilly Stone ’26 and Zoe Rogan ’27 tallied first career goals, defeating Castleton University and closing the Manchester Cup with a 3-0 win. English Professor’s New Book Reinterprets African American NovelsAssociate Professor of English Alvin J. Henry has published a new book reinterpreting African American novels and identifying a new model of Black queer selfhood. “Black Queer Flesh” was published by the University of Minnesota Press, which describes it as “an original and necessary contribution to Black literary studies, offering new ways to understand and appreciate the canonical texts and far more.” |

Baker's debut poetry collection, Doe, dramatizes the untold stories of missing and unidentified women across the United States and was selected as the winner of the 2016 Akron Prize. Saints Teams Secure Liberty League Playoff Spots; Fall Sports ContinueSaints Field Hockey defeated Union College 6-2 on Sunday, securing a spot in the Liberty League playoffs while Saints Volleyball swept Union College 3-0 on Saturday to qualify for the Liberty League Tournament for the second straight season. The wins continued with Women's Soccer defeating Skidmore College 2-1 on the road while Men’s Soccer defeated Skidmore College 3-2 at home on Saturday. On Friday, Women's Hockey swept RIT 3-0 at home while Volleyball beat Skidmore College 3-0 on the road. Throughout the weekend, several members of the men's and women's swimming and diving teams emerged victorious in their individual races during their respective season openers against Skidmore College. Purple WeekAs part of this year's Purple Week, The Advocates and other student advocacy groups organized powerful events on campus to raise awareness and show support for domestic and sexual violence survivors. On Tuesday Oct. 19, students came together for a candlelight vigil on the Brush Family Quad after listening to survivors courageously speak as part of “Take Back the Night.”

Saints Shatter Records; Head to Liberty League ChampionshipsThe Saints track and field teams dominated the Intercollegiate Twilight Meet as Kimberly Merchant ’22 set a program record in the discus and several Saints secured top spots in their competitions as they head into the Liberty League Championships this weekend. Women’s lacrosse is headed to the Liberty Leagues after defeating RIT 21-14 to set a new program record for wins in a season and securing a 16-13 victory over Nazareth while men’s tennis beat Ithaca 6-3 after dominating SUNY Oswego 9-0 on the road. Saints Baseball defeated Skidmore 15-5 and 18-8 in a doubleheader after securing a 22-6 win over SUNY Canton 22-6 earlier in the week. Over the weekend, the softball team concluded its regular season while the men’s and women’s rowing and golf teams closed their respective seasons during the Liberty League Championships.
