Last week, Esports' Overwatch team opened their season against Northeastern College and New Haven University while the field hockey team matched up against Hamilton College. In their Friday night lights game, the football team defeated Morrisville State College 27 - 14. On Saturday, the men’s soccer team secured a 1-0 win against SUNY Potsdam at home, while the women’s soccer team tied against RPI in their Liberty League opener on the road. The volleyball team defeated Utica College and Elmira College at the Oswego Invitational, while Lillian Sullivan '23 and Catherine Gamble '23 led the women's tennis team with first-round wins in the singles draw on Saturday at the ITA Northeast Regional Tournament at William Smith College. The men's tennis team had two pairs win their semifinal match of the "A" Doubles consolation at the Dutchman Invitational hosted by Union College on Sunday afternoon. Men’s golf competed in the Williams College Fall Invitational, while women’s golf competed in the George Phinney Classic invitational at Middlebury. Volleyball Player Hits Career Milestone; Field Hockey Coach Fran Grembowicz Celebrates 200th Career WinLast week, Natalie Piper '22 recorded her 1,000th kill for Saints Volleyball as the team beat SUNY Potsdam 3-0 at home. Piper is the quickest to 1,000 in the program's 41-year history. The week's wins continued with Saints Esports securing their second straight win in the ECAC season against Nazareth College 2-0 and defeating New England College 3-0. Laying the Groundwork for Plastic Degradation ResearchRae Dunbar '23, a combined environmental studies and biology major, wanted answers to the global problem of plastic pollution. After receiving a stipend to spend eight weeks on campus this past summer as a University Fellow, she laid that groundwork for future researchers interested in plastic degradation.
