    St. Lawrence Recognized as a 2025 Tree Campus

    St. Lawrence earned national recognition by the Arbor Day Foundation as a 2025 Tree Campus. The achievement, which we have earned three years in a row, demonstrates the University’s commitment to environmental stewardship, sustainability, and community engagement.

    St. Lawrence Esports Heads to Nationals

    St. Lawrence’s Overwatch Esports team is headed to nationals for the first time in program history after winning the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) northeastern division title.

    St. Lawrence recently joined the EcoLeague, a consortium of liberal arts colleges and universities dedicated to ecologically focused education and research as well as modeling sustainability through their operations and facilities.

    New Global Studies Art Gallery Exhibit + Zine Library Now Open

    Check out the latest exhibit in the Global Studies Art Gallery in the Global Dialogue Center, "Plantation Past, Present, Futures..." The exhibit features artwork and critical reflections from students in the Art, Activism, and Environment course.

    2025 Frank P. Piskor Lecture Featuring Dr. Amanda Oldacre

    - Griffiths 123 Harlan Holladay Lecture Hall In this lecture, Dr. Oldacre will explain how we can use a technique that combines light and electricity, known as photo-electrochemistry, to break down microplastic pollutants. This method uses a light-activated catalyst to help degrade microplastics into harmless products like carbon dioxide and water. The lecture will focus on the assembly, characterization, and stability of the proposed degradation system.

From the Festival of Science, Scholarship, and Creativity to Folk Fest, athletic events, art exhibits, musical performances, and more, it’s a weekend full of ways to recognize everything students accomplished this year.

    - Griffiths Room 123 Operating across installation, sculpture, and an art-science podcast, Randi Renate's artwork involves a choreographing of bodies within a sculptural framework to conduct her research on how things are interwoven.

    - Peterson-Kermani Performance Hall Featuring the music of Aaron Copland, William L. Dawson, James Erb, C.A. Pinto Fonseca, Vytautas Mišminus, Zachary Moore, Randal Stroope, Randal Thompson, and Gwyneth Walker. The event is free, open to the public, and available via livestream.

    Saints Sweep the Weekend and Earn National Honors

    • Baseball: The Saints picked up three wins this past week, taking down Vassar 9-4 in the backend of a double header. Sophomore Mike Siano, senior Timothy Connor, and senior Sean Desjardins all recorded two hits. The team also picked up back-to-back wins against Hobart this past Saturday, winning both games 7-3, as senior Michael Hutchins and sophomore Boden Driscoll dominated on the mound.
    • Softball: The Saints won four games this week, recording two doubleheader sweeps against Potsdam and Union. Against Potsdam, they won 4-3 and 5-2, where sophomore Izzy Melanson and first-year Marleigh Monroe had wins in the circle. Against Union, they recorded 9-5, and 8-0 wins, coming back to beat Union in Game 1 of the twin bill.
    • Women’s Lacrosse: The Scarlet and Brown took down Skidmore 10-5 this past Friday, where sophomore Jessica LaPlaca had a career-best eight points. They finished the weekend 1-1.
    • Men’s Lacrosse: In the Route 11 rivalry matchup against Clarkson last Wednesday, the Saints won 9-7 after an electric final quarter where they outscored the Knights 5-1. Last Thursday, sophomore Daniel Mahoney and senior Charlie Miele earned spots on the USILA Team of the Week for their play in the wins against Middlebury and Ithaca.
    • Football: Seven players earned a spot in the 2025 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society. Seniors Oskar Baldwin, Matthew Dahill, Joseph O’Neil, Evan Pastino, Cole Salyards, and Dexter Seeley were all named recipients of the achievement.
    • Track and Field: Both teams competed in the Middlebury Invitational this past Saturday. On the men’s side, junior Patrick Russell won the 3000-meter and junior Nick Lyndaker won the 800-meter, and the team consisting of first-year Dylan Keating, sophomore Caleb Young, junior Kris Mellor, and senior Leif Harvey won the 4x400-meter relay. On the women’s side, sophomore Carly Zack took home a win in the 3000-meter run with her time of 12.09.86, and junior Amelia Berthold had personal bests in the 100-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles.
    • Women’s Golf: Senior Mary Grace McCann and first-year Sadie Cumming both shot 80 to tie for second place in a dual match with Union this past Friday.

    NYC Semester Wraps Up With National Model UN Conference

    To wrap up the New York City semester, St. Lawrence students participated in the National Model United Nations conference. Over five days, our students represented Sweden across ten different committees, engaging in discussions about pressing global issues.
